Ides of March
Ah, the Ides of March is upon us. By now, I had hoped for a slight changing of the seasons, but alas, yesterday we received a fury of snow, ice, and cold harsh winds, and today I find myself digging myself out, both mentally & physically (my car is still snowed in) from the wintry mix. Though I live in the northeast, I am a southern California girl at heart. I love the never-ending sunshine, temperate climate, and the abundance of beautiful produce the West Coast has to offer. And it's this time of year when I find myself chomping at the bit for spring and summer (or at least for a few days respite someplace warm!) To that end, I'm excited to report that I am heading to Florida (Boca & Miami) next week for a few days. I. CANNOT. WAIT.
Though the weather's got me feeling a bit boxed in, I am happy to report that there have been a lot of positive new things happening. For one, I did a shoot for Runners' World mag last month and it just hit newsstands last week. Check it out:
That's me jumping into a (freezing cold) puddle and also demonstrating some exercises that will prep you for running hills! The shoot was at the Runners' World headquarters in Pennsylvania and was a ton of fun!
I have also added about five new clients to my roster, pretty much bringing me to capacity. I am so grateful to be doing what I love on a daily basis; helping others get in shape, gain self-confidence, and improve their wellbeing.
Third, I've started a new bootcamp on Saturday mornings called, Stretch HIIT Out, which combines high-intensity interval training with deep stretching. My class is packed and I love the challenge of developing a new fun and effective workout each week.
Last, but definitely not least, I am starting my yoga teacher training (YTT) TONIGHT! I am so excited. I have always wanted to add this component to my rolodex of what I can offer my clients and I am so thrilled to immerse myself more deeply in this practice that I've been engaged in since I was twelve.
So, though spring is not officially here yet, I am enjoying these fresh new undertakings, and trust that the warmer weather and easy-breezy days will soon replace this winter chill. The days grow longer & fuller, and for that I am very grateful.
