I'M JESSE

I hold a lot of titles: mom, personal trainer, wellness coach, run coach, community leader, friend, etc.

Over the years, I've collected quite a few certifications and degrees. I have a Master's in psychology, and most of my work in grad school was devoted toward connecting the dots between exercise and mental health. This is the backbone of my whole-being wellness philosophy that I've curated over the past decade. And, it's one that stems from my own experience.

In my late teens and early 20's, I struggled with an eating disorder. At the age of 22, I finally recovered from the starve-binge-purge cycle, but then soon began abusing alcohol. Fast forward a few years, and my alcohol-use was out of control. Finally, at the age of 29, I found my footing and have been sober ever since (over a decade now).

Exercise (first running, and then strength training) were a huge part of my recovery. When I went for a run or did a workout, the feel-good chemicals greatly alleviated my desire to self-harm through food or alcohol.

Shortly after graduate school, I became a certified personal trainer, then a certified yoga instructor, a certified run coach, heart-rate specialist, Women's Fitness specialist.  And later, obtained certifications in Indoor cycling, and Corrective Exercise.

Yes. That's a lot of certifications! But I've always loved learning, and each of these certifications has helped me deepen my knowledge in all things fitness, wellness, and mental-health oriented.

So, when I work with clients, I bring a very well-rounded understanding of the brain & body with me.

I believe that holistic care, in the sense of working with what we already have available to us: deepening the connection to ourselves- and integrating things to help improve that connection- should be the foundation for all that we do.

Aside from all of this, I am also a mother; a role that has changed me in the best, most unexpected ways. I also love to write, create, travel, and read.

Anything else you'd like to know? Just ask. I'm an open book. :)

I am a former OpenFit/BeachBody Trainer

And many of my workouts still reside on the BODi app. I taught a variety of modalities, including: ride, strength, HIIT, yoga, foam rolling, stretching, and cardio sculpt.

"Jesse's sessions have taught me that our time together is invaluable, it's a gift that I'm giving myself. People generally talk about self care left and right, and that is the very definition of working out with Jesse. She's inspirational, intuitive and effective."

"Jesse is an excellent trainer. She listens, motivates you, challenges you (in the most positive way!) and makes you sweat during every training session! She will most definitely cheer you on but also won’t take excuses. "
